November 25 20162016-11-25Outdoor ceremonial procession on a sandy ground with a silver-painted ratha chariot topped by a silver umbrella canopy and a deity murti under it. A bare-chested man in a red dhoti holds a large white fan (chamara) over the chariot. Several men in saffron-orange robes walk and steady the chariot; one bald man in orange with rudraksha malas and armbands walks in front, and another in orange with a mala walks beside it. Orange and red decorative umbrellas are held nearby, and a few people in white and orange stand in the background among construction materials and trees under a clear blue sky. No candidate is clearly identifiable as a person from appearance alone, so the identity is unsure.2016-11-06November 06 20162016-11-06 +1 copiesPhoto 11696244July 23 20092009-07-23January 11 20172017-01-11January 11 20172017-01-11December 23 20082008-12-23June 20 20162016-06-20February 10 20132013-02-10A photograph of a ceremonial procession on an ornately decorated golden-and-red ratha or palanquin, covered by a red canopy with marigold garlands and hanging tassels in pink, purple, red, teal and yellow with brass bells. A seated figure in a gold and red crown and saffron-orange robes, with a garland of red flowers, raises one hand in blessing while holding a golden staff. Beside him, a bare-chested, ash-smeared attendant with a white sacred thread stands with his back to the camera, and a shaved-headed attendant in saffron robes stands at left. Flower-strewn fabric and garlands decorate the platform. The setting appears to be an outdoor Kumbh Mela-style procession. The seated figure's appearance shows crown, saffron clothing and garlands, but the image is not clear enough to confirm identity.2013-02-10A festival procession on a dirt road beside palm trees. A man with long swept-back hair, wearing an orange saffron robe and a long necklace, stands at centre with a flower garland, a figure in an orange robe with a white-bearded face to the left. Nearby, a man in white with a rudraksha mala and a shaved-head attendant in white hold a red cloth bundle. A bearded man in white and a woman in orange with a beaded necklace stand at right, and a white fan-like whisk appears at left.
