A large golden ornamental chariot (ratha) stands on a dirt ground under a cloudy sky. It has a tiered canopy with winged cherub figures at the corners, golden pillars, and multicolored tassel and striped cloth hangings. Two golden horses are harnessed at the front, and golden standing female figures flank the platform. A pink-faced deity murti sits within the chariot near the horses. Scaffolding, a truck and palm trees appear in the background. No people are visible.2013-12-24December 24 20132013-12-24A photograph of a gilded, ornately carved ratha, a festival chariot shown from behind, parked on a dirt road beside palm trees and green foliage. Four or so men in lungis and simple shirts stand on its platform; one in a teal top and one bare-chested stand near a small wooden stool, and a man in a white vest reaches up to the canopy pillar. Several pillars are wrapped in white cloth and newspaper. A dark golden deity murti sits on a seat inside the canopy, and a red flower garland hangs at the top corner. Along the lower side of the chariot is a printed panel with photographs of robed devotees and a Tamil-script caption.December 27 20132013-12-27February 19 20152015-02-19 +1 copiesOctober 03 20142014-10-03A large golden ceremonial chariot with a tiered, ornate canopy topped by a finial, decorated with carved figures, multicolored striped pillars, and garlands, pulled by a red tractor on an open dirt ground under a pale sky.
