Brass puja plates, a small brass trident, candles and an offering tray sit on a glossy floor in front of her. Beside her a second girl in dark clothing and rudraksha beads bends over another brass tray with a lamp. Behind them, several men with bare upper bodies, rudraksha malas and white forehead markings sit blurred in a hall, some in orange cloth. No one in the photo is identified as a person, and the scene appears to show a lamp-lighting ritual.2017-01-04Photograph of several young shaved-headed and long-haired boys seated in a row on a stone platform during a ritual. The foreground boy with a white vibhuti line on his forehead and a rudraksha mala holds a lit taper or incense stick toward a fire, while others beside him in saffron and orange cloth hold lit tapers. Brass pots and kalasha vessels sit along the platform, and smoke rises from the flame. Other figures are partly visible at the edges.2016-11-24Photo 11709814Photograph of a puja setting on a white marble floor. In the foreground a young boy in orange and gold dhoti sits bare-chested, holding a small brass vessel and a metal lamp, with a brass pot and offerings at his feet. Behind him other boys, some bare-chested with white sacred ash marks on their foreheads and rudraksha malas, sit on the steps, one holding a brass lamp. Adult devotees in orange and red saris and robes are seated further back among pillars, with small oil lamps glowing on the steps. The scene suggests a pooja or aarti with brass vessels and lamps; no a person figure is visible.2016-11-24A girl in saffron-orange robes and rudraksha beads sits cross-legged on a white floor, lighting a small flame from a lamp with her right hand while holding a brass bell.
