Near the centre, a shaved-headed priest wears a white dhoti and an orange shawl, while another man in orange and white stands beside him. At the far end, a red velvet throne stands before a banner with a Tamil headline and a portrait. At left a speaker stands on a raised orange-carpeted stage behind a lectern, with a banner reading Bhagavad Gita and flower arrangements beside the stage. A man in a white shirt and dark trousers walks among the crowd near the stage, and a woman at lower left speaks into a microphone. Ceiling fans and wall lights are visible. The banner and Tamil script suggest a Gita satsang, but the stage occupant is too distant to identify.2010-02-15A large indoor hall crowded with standing devotees in a photo taken from behind a rear group, looking toward a distant front area. Many people in white shirts, dhotis, saris and salwar kameez press together, some with hands folded in namaste. A man in the centre-right wears an orange shawl and an orange-yellow garland, and a figure in orange robes stands among the crowd. Red plastic chairs line the foreground, and red and orange draped decorations with green foliage hang along the back wall beneath fluorescent tube lights and ceiling fans.2003-11-16A large crowd of devotees fills a bright, high-ceilinged hall with cream walls, rows of square ventilation windows and a corrugated roof, decorated with hanging yellow, orange and red tassel banners. Many people wear white dhotis and shirts, women wear red, orange, yellow and green saris, and some hold flowers and small offerings. Two cameramen with professional video cameras stand at left and centre-right, filming the gathering. Front-row figures press palms together in namaskar and folded hands. No a person candidate is clearly identifiable from appearance in this image.2014-06-29 +1 copies
