Behind her stand two large painted deity figures in red and gold garments with crowns, one with a raised hand. In front, a white marble-like bust wearing a red and gold cloth and marigold garlands sits on a draped red and white altar. Brass lamps, a brass kalasha and a brass vessel rest on a white cloth. To the left, two men in white dhotis, one with gold necklaces, hold a silver tray with flowers while a third man stands behind them. The setting is an outdoor temple pavilion with stone columns and green foliage beyond.2010-12-28Photograph of a festival scene under a stone temple portico. A large deity murti or statue, dressed in a green and gold sari-like garment, purple skirt, red and gold scarf and flower garlands of yellow, red and white blossoms, is being attended to. A woman in an orange sari with a matching headband stands at its side reaching toward it, and a man in orange clothing stands at left with raised arm beside a white cloth on the floor. Behind the murti hang orange and white sequined and embroidered cloths. At lower right a small framed deity image appears. The figures are attendants in orange, not identifiable as a person, so the a person field is none.2007-12-25December 26 20152015-12-26December 26 20152015-12-26A photograph of an outdoor temple-style ritual at a shrine, with two large decorated deity murtis framed by long garlands of white, yellow, red and purple flowers. Around them, several people in white clothes and orange shawls stand and watch, and a video camera is set up in the foreground. Palm fronds frame the left edge of the image, and a golden ceremonial staff is visible at lower left. Red drapes hang behind the shrine.2007-12-26Photo of a ritual procession at a temple courtyard under a corrugated metal roof with orange-painted walls. A large deity murti or image of a goddess is carried on a palanquin-style frame, heavily decorated with white jasmine garlands and red, magenta and orange flower strings, with a gold crown and blue and gold cloth. On the right, a man with long dark swept-back hair wears an orange saffron robe, a white flower garland, and white ash markings on his bare arm. A bare-chested man in a red shawl with a green border stands at left, and a man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands behind the image. Flower petals and turmeric powder scatter the floor, and onlookers stand in the background.2010-07-21Outdoor temple ritual at a shrine with a tiled, ornately carved canopy trimmed in yellow fabric. A large garland of red, orange, yellow and white flowers encircles a silver-decorated deity murti on a wooden stand. Several young men in saffron-orange dhotis and sacred thread stand bare-chested with white ash marks on their arms, lifting and attending the garlanded murti. An older bare-chested priest in white dhoti and rudraksha mala stands at left, and a woman in white sari with a white shawl walks at right. Flower petals lie on a striped mat, and brass lamps stand nearby.
