A bald priest in an orange-red dhoti and upper cloth raises a lit lamp toward a golden-framed shrine holding a deity murti of a seated couple with garlands of red and yellow flowers. A second robed attendant in reddish-brown dhoti stands at left holding a plate. On a stone platform in front are brass vessels, a kalasha pot, a bell and offering plates. A man seated on an ornate silver-and-red throne wears a white-and-gold head wrap, a maroon shawl, a large gold pendant necklace and gold armbands; a microphone stands before him. Behind him a shrine holds deity murti in red and gold: a seated deity pair with a crown and a golden kalasha-like vessel in front, and a green-clad figure to the left with garlands. A devotee in saffron-orange robes holds a brass bell in the right foreground, and another saffron-clad figure stands at the right edge. An oil lamp burns at the base of the shrine. Two deity murtis are dressed in green and gold silk with garlands of red and white flowers, ornate necklaces, and a crown on the taller figure. A shaved-headed priest in an orange-saffron dhoti with a bare upper body and a red-and-white garland stands at the centre holding a small brass lamp. To the left, three men in orange robes and one in white dhoti stand near tall brass lamp stands and a brass tray with offerings, and one holds a flaming lamp. Small brass bowls sit on the floor. The scene reads as an aarti or puja. No individual is confidently identified as a person from appearance.2012-04-24December 31 20082008-12-31July 21 20102010-07-21Photo of a temple shrine with two large decorated deity murtis, one in red and gold crown and one in purple and green sari, garlanded with yellow and red flower malas.
