In the foreground, a bare-chested man with curly black hair, a beard and red-rimmed glasses wears a long red-brown rudraksha mala and a thin white sacred cord, and reaches toward a brass puja plate with small oil lamps. Beside him, a shaved-headed man wearing a red cloth and white sandalwood marks on his forehead sits in the lower right. Brass plates with lamps and offerings line the floor, and a copper water bottle sits on the left. The setting suggests a puja or homa ritual, not a named event.2017-01-03 +1 copiesPhoto 11695911Photo 116856372013-02-10November 08 20102010-11-08October 07 20102010-10-07 +1 copiesJanuary 03 20172017-01-03 +1 copiesMay 25 20172017-05-25July 11 20112011-07-11A photograph of seated men in white dhotis and white shirts or bare upper bodies performing a puja in a hall at dim evening light. They sit cross-legged on red-orange mats in rows, with brass plates, small brass lamps and lit oil lamps and candles set before them. The foreground man wears a yellow shawl, white kurta and glasses, and holds a small object in his hands; an open book rests near him. Brass bowls and a plastic container are visible among the offerings.2011-01-23
