Photo 11722758October 11 20162016-10-11Large outdoor gathering on tiered red-and-white stone steps at an ashram ground. Many shaved-headed monks and sannyasis in saffron-orange robes sit in rows with palms pressed together in namaskar, several with white vibhuti stripes on their foreheads and rudraksha malas around their necks. Some wear pink-edged orange cloths. Behind them, a row of attendants in red and white stands at the rail, and several large orange parasols and decorated poles rise above the crowd. Red-and-gold ceremonial structures and a golden kalasha-topped shrine appear in the background beside a red building. Spectators fill the upper steps.2013-12-27February 13 20162016-02-13November 13 20152015-11-13Photograph of a group of shaved-headed monastics in saffron-orange robes with maroon borders, many wearing rudraksha malas and gold pendant necklaces, standing outdoors with palms raised in a devotional gesture. Some have white vertical forehead markings and one has white horizontal tilak on the forehead. Behind them are red-and-white bunting and rows of dark lingam-shaped shrines or stone structures blurred in the background. The closest figures appear focused on chanting or prayer. No individual is clearly identifiable as a person from appearance cues.2013-07-08Photo 11696309January 02 20192019-01-02 +1 copiesJanuary 06 20162016-01-06 +1 copiesNovember 17 20152015-11-17November 17 20152015-11-17November 17 20152015-11-17
