Photo 11693904January 04 20152015-01-04A procession on a red carpet in an open courtyard with a palm-lined backdrop and a large canopy shelter. A man in the centre wears a red-brown dhoti and shawl, a red and white flower garland, a gold pendant and layered rudraksha malas, and has a red-and-white tilak on his forehead; he walks forward with his hands at his sides. Behind him a bearer holds a large multicoloured fringed parasol with a pink lotus motif, and an attendant carries a smaller decorated umbrella. Surrounding them are men and women in saffron-orange and red garments, many with rudraksha malas, some with hands pressed in prayer, and drummers playing orange-bodied drums and a long horn at the left edge. Several people are sitting or standing at the edges. This is a temple-style procession with parasols and drums.2015-04-21A procession on a red carpet under a open-sided shelter. At center, a figure with long dark hair wears a rust-red garment, a red and white flower garland, a gold necklace and a rudraksha mala, walking beneath a large multicoloured umbrella with red, yellow and pink fringe. Attendants in saffron-orange dhotis and red-brown robes flank him; several blow long brass horns and one carries a flag. Behind, a banner shows a world map and an event logo.
