Outdoor photograph of a large crowd gathered beneath a broad banyan tree with thick aerial roots. Most people wear white clothing, including loose white kurtas and white salwar-style outfits; several women have long dark braids. On the left, a man in an orange-saffron garment with a yellow-beaded necklace stands near the crowd. Toward the right, a small group in saffron-orange robes stands together, and a bald man in orange is near the centre-right. A few people stand with hands clasped in front of them. A camera operator on a raised position is visible at the upper right. Some people hold bags with straps. The scene reads as a morning procession or gathering in a shaded garden setting.2009-06-17 +1 copiesDecember 02 20092009-12-02A large crowd of devotees gathers beneath and around a massive banyan tree with sprawling aerial roots and thick low branches. Several men in orange and saffron robes stand at the right edge near the tree, and a shaved-headed man in white stands in the centre foreground. A girl in a white top and a schoolbag, and a small child, stand at left. Dappled green light falls across the scene.2011-07-01A large crowd of devotees dressed mostly in white gathers around a massive banyan tree with thick aerial roots and hanging vines. Several saffron-robed monastics stand among them at the right, one in orange cloth with a shaved head near the tree trunk. Many participants have hands folded in prayer or are raised in devotion. The tree dominates the scene, with bright green foliage above. This appears to be a procession or gathering at a sacred tree during an ashram program.2009-06-17June 17 20092009-06-17December 19 20052005-12-19 +2 copiesOutdoor gathering seated in the shade of a large banyan tree with sweeping aerial roots and branches.
