Centered on the seat is a framed portrait of a smiling man with a saffron/orange turban, orange robes and a red-brown tilak, labelled with a printed caption. A kneeling person in white clothing with a white shawl sits at lower right with hands joined in prayer, beside a metal bowl and a small brass plate of offerings. Flanking the seat are flower arrangements of orange, yellow and purple blooms, a silver trident (trishul) and green foliage, all against a backdrop of a large banyan-style tree over a golden temple-carved landscape. This appears to be an aarti ritual before a portrait on a peetha/throne; the portrait is a printed image, not a physical person.2014-12-26Photo 11691327
