In the centre, a bald man with glasses wears an orange saffron robe with a maroon border, a gold necklace with a pendant, and a gold bangle, carrying a pink cloth, barefoot. To his right, a younger person in a saffron robe with a multicolour marigold and white flower garland and a gold necklace smiles and gestures. Behind them, another saffron-clad man wears a gold necklace, and men in white dhotis and a man in a yellow shawl with white tilak marks on their foreheads walk along. A bald man in white stands in the background. Ash marks decorate several foreheads.2010-01-08May 18 20122012-05-18Photo 11730383A street procession moves through a crowd under a red-and-gold canopy held aloft on poles. At the centre, a bare-chested man in orange-saffron dhoti wears layered gold-toned and beaded necklaces, with a crown-like headdress and a shawl draped over his shoulder. He walks with hands folded in front of him as attendants in white dhotis and orange robes walk beside and behind him. Several bystanders in white and light clothing watch from the sides, and devotees carry saffron-coloured cloth, with some figures wearing rudraksha-style malas. The setting appears to be an outdoor festival route with dust and open sky.2012-05-18Photo 11729338 +2 copies
