Many young women and girls in saffron-orange saris with red borders wear rudraksha malas and white forehead markings, holding brass oil lamps and small plates of offerings. Older women in white and maroon saris sit among them, some holding lit lamps or cupped hands in prayer. Brass pots, small plates of fruit and flowers, and a wall painting of deities are visible. Smoke rises from a small incense or lamp at lower left.2013-11-20Outdoor photograph of a group of young women and girls in saffron-orange saris and dresses, many wearing rudraksha malas and gold necklaces, standing on a paved path with hands raised in devotional gesture while singing or chanting. A woman in a green sari and a girl in a pink skirt stand among them. Trees, a solar-powered street light and a blank billboard frame appear in the background. The scene suggests a devotional gathering at an ashram.2018-12-22Photograph of a children's celebration in an open-air courtyard with a covered veranda decorated with pink and purple tinsel streamers and colourful balloons. A man with grey hair and a moustache, wearing a white shirt, white trousers and a rudraksha-style bead mala, stands at the front on steps with his hands folded. Seated on the left, a young man in saffron-orange robes with a white flower garland sits near a microphone. Many children sit on the ground and on a coloured mat, some with palms pressed together in greeting. Girls in pink and green dresses and boys in orange and red shirts stand at the right, some holding a microphone. A small potted plant and scattered bricks lie in the foreground. Several adults in orange and white clothing sit behind them. The scene shows a school-age group gathered for a programme.2008-11-14August 31 20132013-08-31January 01 20172017-01-01 +1 copiesAugust 25 20172017-08-25
