The seated figure, in a saffron-orange robe with a pink and white flower garland and a rudraksha-style bead necklace, sits cross-legged in meditation with hands resting on knees and a halo behind the head. Behind him are a white cow, a small shrine structure, trees, a lake and distant mountains at sunset. A kamandalu-like water pot and a book lie in front. The printed caption in Devanagari reads the name of Swami Krishnanand Giri Ji Maharaj with dates 1842-1878, attributed to the caption under the painting. No living person is physically present.2014-05-23
