October 15 20052005-10-15October 14 20052005-10-14A photograph of a temple-style tent shrine with a large dark deity murti of Venkateshwara, a Vishnu form, standing in a golden arch frame and decorated with multicolored flower garlands, gold ornaments and a red silk cloth. A shaved-headed man in white dhoti and shawl kneels on a striped rug, holding a lit oil lamp aarti on a tray toward the deity, with flower arrangements around. At right, a smaller deity figure in orange garments and a white garland sits on a gilded seat. A printed photo of a figure appears at left edge. The scene reads as puja with alankaram. The man is a priest; his appearance lacks sufficient cues to identify him.2005-10-13A photograph inside a white tent showing a tall standing deity murti of Venkateshwara, dark-faced with a tall red and gold crown and a white urdhva tilaka, dressed in a gold brocade garment with a red and gold shawl and layered white and multicolour flower garlands. In front, a shaved-headed priest in white dhoti and bare chest, with a rudraksha mala, sits cross-legged with palms joined in namaskar. Before the murti are brass vessels, a kalasha-style vessel, plates of fruit, marigolds, red flowers and a lit oil lamp on a cloth. Near the right edge a seated devotee in a white striped shirt faces the altar, and a video camera is visible. An ornate gold arch frames the deity. The scene depicts a Venkateshwara abhishekam and alankaram.2005-10-14October 13 20052005-10-13October 14 20052005-10-14A photograph of a tented ritual space with a tall gold-painted arch framing a dark standing deity murti of Vishnu with white urdhva pundra markings, a red and gold crown, layered gold jewellery and a garland of multicoloured flowers.
