A large white banner carries a portrait labelled "Paramahamsa Nithyananda" showing a smiling man with long hair and saffron clothing, a printed image rather than a physical person. Beside it, a richly decorated float with gold and flower ornaments carries a deity murti and robed attendants, and saffron and yellow flags wave above. Uniformed police line barricades at the front. The people visible in the crowd are too many and too distant to count individually.2013-02-10Night procession at the Maha Kumbh Mela amid dense crowds under hazy orange light from rows of street lamps. A large decorated float covered in marigold garlands and lights carries figures in its centre, with a canopy above and a ceremonial umbrella at left. A banner held aloft at left shows a portrait of a figure with long dark hair in saffron clothing. Many saffron and orange flags line the scene, and uniformed police officers stand along metal barricades in the foreground. Thousands of pilgrims fill the procession route.2013-02-10
