A photograph of an outdoor ritual setup under an orange canopy with a red-orange building behind. In the centre a large statue of a deity with multiple arms stands beside a figure in orange robes and a golden crown-like headdress. On the white-draped table in front are brass plates, a small bowl, a plate of offerings and a kalasha-like vessel. To the right a framed portrait is displayed on a stand beside a red-cloth seat. No clear physical people are visible apart from the statues and portraits.2010-11-11November 11 20102010-11-11A night-time outdoor ritual scene in front of a temple-style shrine with a deity murti decorated with flower garlands and a red-orange backdrop, a sign reading Ishwara Temple above. In the centre, a deity murti decorated with a large garland of flowers sits on a cushioned platform beneath a golden ornate arch. Two men sit on a red carpet in front of the shrine: the one on the left, in white dhoti and garlands, holds a microphone and a sheet of paper, while the one beside him wears orange robes and rudraksha beads and sits behind brass puja vessels, a bowl of offerings and a plate. To the right stands an empty golden throne with red cushions, and a framed portrait of a saint in orange robes sits on its seat. A red umbrella canopy and potted plants frame the scene. A photo-caption printed copyright line appears in the lower right of the frame.2010-11-05November 06 20102010-11-06A shaved-headed priest in saffron-orange robes kneels at a black stone platform, tending a ritual vessel on a silver tray in front of a golden deity murti of Nandi-like bull shape. The murti stands on a golden pedestal draped in orange cloth and heavy marigold garlands, beneath a decorated canopy with colourful fringes. Brass lamps, a kalasha-style pot, fruit and banana offerings sit on a mat in the foreground, and a tall gold ceremonial lamp stand is at the right. The setting is an open-air shrine with orange and white painted walls and a red-and-white striped border, typical of a temple puja.2010-11-11
