Photo 11733955December 14 20112011-12-14A collage of six panels from an October 2011 archive page. Top row and bottom row show close-up hands in pale sleeves and bangles pouring liquid from small glass or silver vessels over red hibiscus flowers and marigold-like blooms on a gold tray; one bottom panel shows hands holding a red rose in a clear cup. The centre panel is a split image: on the left, a group of seated people in a room with red curtains and a banner reading ATLANTA UJJAIN, a man in a green shirt in front; on the right, a painted or printed image of a richly decorated throne with a seated figure beside a woman in dark clothes. The image is a graphic collage with no physical people in the frame counted as present participants; the visible hands are the only physical people.2011-10-15 +1 copiesOctober 07 20112011-10-07 +1 copiesMay 03 20082008-05-03July 20 20122012-07-20A collage of three panels from a temple event. Behind her, a seated crowd of devotees in white and pastel clothing faces a golden altar with a framed portrait and garlands. The upper right panel shows silver and gold trays of offerings with pink lotus flowers and small lamps. The lower right panel shows the backs of seated devotees, several with shaved or short hair, in white and orange clothing, facing the shrine.2010-10-04October 26 20112011-10-26 +1 copiesA four-panel collage of a ritual padapuja-style ceremony on a golden dais. Top left shows a bare foot in an orange-saffron garment resting on a golden seat with flower petals, with silver and steel bowls of offerings beside it. Top right shows a woman in a red-and-white saree holding a small silver vessel and standing near the golden platform. Bottom panels show a woman in red saree pouring or offering from a silver container, and a man in white dhoti and shirt seated at the dais, with an older man in white kneeling and offering. The scene is a temple-like ritual with orange-robed attendants, silver plates, flowers and a golden throne-like seat. No identifiable face is needed to describe the scene.2010-08-14A photograph of a home puja set up in a bright room with large windows and a wall of textured brown tiles. Around a central altar draped in pink and white flowers and a tall floral garland, a seated priest in a saffron-orange garment performs the rite while others sit on a patterned red rug. Brass and silver trays hold fruit, sweets, flower offerings and small lamps arranged in a circle. On the right, a figure in a magenta silk sari sits near a pink cushioned chair. A man in white kurta sits at left, and women in orange, yellow and red saris and children in white and yellow attend the ceremony. The setting appears to be a family puja with flower garlands, kalasha-style offerings and devotees seated on the floor.2008-07-292010 - Photo Album +1 copiesA living room set up for a home puja. A woman in a pink and gold silk saree stands at left holding a silver tray with a lit lamp and offerings. Seated on a rug in the centre, a man in a white kurta sits cross-legged. Floral garlands and a decorated altar with flowers, bananas, fruit bowls and brass vessels are arranged before them. Several seated women in saris, including one in blue, and a child with hair pulled back sit on the floor in front. A fireplace and tripod camera appear in the background.2008-07-29
