A satsang hall with dark wood panelling and woven wall panels. On the left, a figure in a red shawl and orange-and-gold robes sits on an ornate gold-and-red throne holding a long gold staff, bare-footed. Seated rows of devotees behind him wear white, orange and saffron scarves, one woman in purple, a man in blue with headphones. In the foreground a cameraman films from a tripod while a man in white with an orange scarf sits on a striped mat, and a woman in a white sari stands at a microphone stand on the right beside a man in a white cap and orange garment.

Indoor evening discourse in a yellow-walled room. A man with long dark hair, wearing an orange robe and shawl, sits on a leopard-print cushioned chair with a microphone stand beside him, while a wooden bench stands behind him. A framed painting hangs on the wall, a chandelier and ceiling fan overhead, and a lit aquarium sits at left. Around a patterned carpet, a seated audience in orange shawls and saffron and pastel clothing listens, some with their faces partly visible, and a woman in a pink patterned dress sits at front-left. Several other seated listeners are visible along the right side near a wooden column and large windows.

A seated group of devotees in a plain room listens to a speaker at a microphone on a stand. The speaker, in the left foreground, wears an orange-saffron head wrap and an orange cloth draped over a pink top, seated on a folding chair. Around him, many people sit cross-legged on a yellow patterned mat, most in orange-saffron shawls; some wear white, one woman in a teal salwar and another in a grey sari. A few sit on white plastic chairs along the back wall. A dark green marble pillar stands at centre, with a framed picture and garland on the wall behind. Some participants have eyes closed in meditation, and small books lie on the mat. Lighting is fluorescent. The gathering reads as a satsang or discourse.

A photograph of an indoor satsang in a small room with tiled floor, patterned curtains and a sofa draped with white cloth. A person in an orange-saffron robe with a gold-toned ornate garland sits elevated on a sofa, one hand raised near the chin while speaking. Around a dozen devotees in white clothes, several with orange shawls and white-and-red badges, sit cross-legged on the floor facing him. A plate of flowers and a small framed picture of a deity sit at the left and in the background.

December 04 2006 - Karthikai Deepam, Tiruvannamalai

A seated figure in an orange-saffron robe with long dark hair sits with palms pressed together in namaste at the centre of a plain room, wearing a garland of flowers and a rudraksha-style necklace. Before him stands a wooden table holding fruit and a brass oil lamp, and a small floral arrangement. Around him, devotees sit on a red carpet: a man in white kurta and red-beaded necklace holds an offering plate, women in cream and yellow sarees with saffron-yellow shawls, a woman in a grey top with a long braid, and a man in a blue striped shirt in the foreground. A man in a light blue shirt sits at left and a man in white kurta at right. Grey cabinets line the walls.

2004 - Pada Puja in Madurai Shirdi sai Baba temple

December 25 2008

Indoor photograph of a devotee gathering in a living room with floral curtains and a cream sofa covered in lace. A woman with long dark hair, wearing an orange saffron sari with a gold border and a beaded necklace, sits cross-legged on the sofa edge at the back. Around her, about eight men in white dhotis and white shirts sit on the floor and chairs, one in a dark checked shawl, several wearing pink and white rosettes. A flower-decorated tray of marigolds sits in the lower left foreground. A small framed deity picture hangs on the wall behind her. Appearance is insufficient to identify the woman, so no identification is made.
