September 26 20112011-09-26A procession moves through the forecourt of a South Indian temple with a gopuram-style facade covered in painted sculptures of deities and figures, and a hill rising behind it. A man in an orange-saffron robe and an orange turban stands near the centre, with a woman in white and a young girl in orange beside him; the orange figure is an appearance-based a person candidate, but his face is not visible and the cues are limited, so identity is uncertain. Around them, men in white dhotis and shirts and women in white saris walk; one older woman in a red sari with a flower in her hair stands at the right. A tall metal palanquin-like covered lantern stand or container is carried in the middle. A blue tarpaulin shelter stands to the right, and a yellow banner reads a Tamil devotional sign. Several people are visible, and one man is bending low near the bottom edge.2007-01-12January 12 20072007-01-12January 12 20072007-01-12October 12 20122012-10-12May 09 20122012-05-09January 12 20072007-01-12August 20 20122012-08-20 +1 copiesKailasa Paramparagatha Arunagiri Yogishwara Adi Arunachala Sarvajnapeetha Samrajyam +1 copiesJanuary 12 20072007-01-12Outdoor procession at a South Indian temple gateway with a colourful gopuram covered in painted sculptures and a rocky hill behind. A man in the centre wears a saffron-orange shawl over white clothing and has long hair and a beard; a second man beside him wears an orange turban and an ornate garland of yellow and orange flowers. Around them, men in white shirts and white dhotis walk, some wearing rudraksha-style beaded necklaces. A woman in a white sari stands at left with her palms pressed together in greeting, and a blue tarpaulin and stalls sit at right. A sign on the gate reads Arunachaleswarar temple name in Tamil. Several people are visible, most in white, consistent with a temple procession.2007-01-12January 30 20092009-01-30
