Wide photograph of a large hall filled with hundreds of seated participants on orange and brown mats, many women in white, cream, yellow and pink saris and men in white dhotis and kurtas, holding pink booklets and notepads. Rows of brass stanchions divide the floor. At the far end a figure in white stands near a golden throne-like seat and a shrine area with deity images on the walls. Cream walls bear framed religious pictures, brown curtains hang over the windows and ceiling fans turn overhead.2017-10-29April 22 20172017-04-22April 16 20082008-04-16A large hall with a red carpet runway and striped colourful mats, where many seated participants in white and orange clothing sit in rows. Some wear orange shawls and white kurtas, others saffron robes with long dark hair. Near the centre a standing man in an orange-brown robe stands at the front of the room, with an orange cloth over his shoulder. Participants hold small booklets and brass items on the mats, and wall banners with pictures line the back wall. A woman in an orange sari stands at the left edge. Most wear white kurta-style clothing with orange-saffron shawls or sashes draped over their shoulders, and many have books, small brass-coloured boxes or pouches on the mat in front of them. Several people sit in the foreground holding papers. A screen on the left shows a speaker, and maroon curtains and framed pictures line the walls. Two tripod-mounted cameras stand near the stage area. Overall, the scene resembles a satsang or group study session at an ashram.2017-03-03Photo 11712362
