A person in a red-orange robe with an orange shawl holds a brass lamp of flaming oil or camphor with flowers, extending it toward a second person in a white dhoti with a gold border, bare-chested, wearing a rudraksha mala, who holds a metal plate. Behind them stands a golden deity murti with a decorated arch and a gilded vahana figure on a red-draped base. A square fire pit with ash sits in front, and white-and-red striped steps lie in the background. Two physical people are visible.2014-11-23Photo 11716756 +1 copiesMarch 01 20182018-03-01 +1 copiesA photograph inside a temple shrine. A shaved-headed man with long rudraksha malas and a gold-coloured headband wears an orange-red garment with yellow borders and holds a small object near a lit lamp. Opposite him, a younger man in white dhoti and shawl with yellow trim, wearing glasses, holds a brass tray with a lit oil lamp. Behind them is a golden arched niche containing a deity murti draped in white with a garland, flanked by oil lamps. A tray of mangoes, bananas, oranges and apples sits in front. Two more figures in white stand at the left edge.2012-05-09A photograph of an aarti ritual before a deity murti adorned with garlands of marigolds and yellow flowers and a rope of beads. A bearded priest with red-marked forehead and body, wearing a saffron dhoti and beaded necklaces, holds a silver tray with a lit multi-wick oil lamp. Beside him, a man with flowers in his hair, a rudraksha mala with a shawl, and a light tilak extends his hands over the flame in blessing. Red and yellow floral garlands and a silver pillar frame the scene.2016-02-16September 18 20062006-09-18A photo of a night-time worship inside a dim, weathered stone shrine with peeling plaster walls. A long-haired man in a rust-red dhoti and shawl, with rudraksha malas around his neck and wrists and an upper-arm band, holds a brass plate with a lit oil lamp (aarti) toward a carved wooden doorway hung with white and red flower garlands. Beside him, a man in saffron-orange robes holds a plate of flowers, and a figure at the left edge holds a brass bell. A hanging oil lamp is visible above the doorway. The lamp-bearer's appearance matches the page's a person reference only partially; the cues are long hair and malas, but the face is uncertain, so he is described by role as the lamp-bearing priest.2018-03-01January 13 20152015-01-13
