Night photograph of an outdoor procession at an ashram gate. On the left, a devotee in white holds a long pole topped by an ornate embroidered parasol with a blue-and-white emblem, beside a woman in a red-and-orange sari and white head covering, and a man in white with an orange cloth. At centre, a black circular frame holds a dark deity murti with white markings, draped in red and orange garlands, set on a low pedestal under a bright streetlight. A drummer in white dhoti beats a drum while others in white dhotis and shirts stand along the sandy path, one holding an orange flag. A person in a striped shirt and orange cloth stands at right. A bearded man in a rust-brown dhoti and shawl, with a marigold garland and a tilak, stands at the centre receiving a brass plate or offering from a young man in orange dhoti. Around him, men in white dhotis with gold borders and beaded malas stand with palms joined or hold a torch, and a woman in red sari stands at right. Illuminated decorated chariot structures and lights glow in the background, and a striped mat lies on the ground.
