Close photograph of a ritual aarti in progress. Two hands, one wearing a gold wristwatch and colourful threaded bracelets, hold a brass tray that supports a multi-wick brass oil lamp with four flames, smoke rising from them. Behind the lamp is a golden deity murti, decorated with bright yellow marigolds and red flowers, with a red cloth draped nearby. Scattered red petals lie on the tray. Only hands and forearms are visible; no full face of a person appears.2018-03-02A close photo of a brass multi-wick aarti lamp with five flames held by a hand on a tray, against a background of yellow and red marigold garlands. Blurred flames and warm light suggest an evening ritual. No person's face is visible; only the hand and forearm holding the lamp appear.2014-08-17October 29 20162016-10-29March 02 20182018-03-02October 19 20132013-10-19A close photograph of a lit brass multi-wick oil lamp (aarti lamp) held in a bare arm and hand at the lower left, with a large flame rising from its several wicks. No person's face or full body is visible, only the arm and hand.2014-08-17Close photo of a brass multi-branched aarti lamp with five ornate spouts, its flames burning high and bright. A hand, partly visible at the lower right, holds the lamp base, which rests on pink and white flower petals. Pink flower garlands fill the blurred background, with a brass vessel visible at the right. Lamp flame and garland imagery suggest a temple aarti.2012-06-05 +1 copiesJune 05 20122012-06-05June 05 20122012-06-05 +1 copiesA close photograph of a brass multi-branched aarti lamp with several flames burning on its cups, held in a hand at the lower right over a tray with green leaves and a pink flower. Behind it, pink flowers and a gold-tinted ornate structure appear blurred. Only a hand is visible, so no full person appears in the frame.2012-05-12Close photo of a brass ceremonial oil lamp (kuthuvilakku) on a tall golden stand, decorated with a garland of white jasmine-like flowers and a single orange blossom wrapped around its top. Three flames burn on the lamp's dishes. Behind it, a person in a rust-brown robe with a gold-coloured border stands with hands pressed together at the chest, and another person in saffron-orange robes stands at the left edge with arms folded. At the right, a hand wearing a gold wristwatch holds a small lamp or offering. The setting suggests an aarti or puja with the lamp as the focal ritual object.2013-10-19November 01 20112011-11-01
