July 01 20092009-07-01A seated priest in an orange-red dhoti and shawl with gold chain performs a homa at an altar. A bright fire burns in a brick-lined fire pit before a deity murti with a red crown, decorated with a garland of red and white flowers and a green-gold cloth. A golden trident stands to the right, and oil lamps, silver vessels, fruit and offerings sit on the altar in front. Golden draped fabric forms the backdrop.2009-07-01A seated man in saffron-orange robes and a matching orange head wrap performs a fire ritual on a tiered white platform decorated with yellow and red flower garlands. A burning wood fire with flames rises at the centre, with brass oil lamps and a bowl of offerings nearby. He gestures with his hands toward a microphone in front of him. Behind the platform, a deity murti stands draped in a green cloth and garlanded with yellow and orange flowers. Bottles of water sit on the platform, and the scene is lit at night with smoke drifting in the background. The ritual appears to be a homa or yagna.2007-09-30August 01 20142014-08-01A seated priest in saffron-orange robes performs a homa at a brick fire pit, feeding flames with a long stick held in his right hand. He wears a long gold necklace with a pendant and round bead strands. Tall yellow-orange flames rise from the bricks, which are dusted with turmeric-yellow powder and marked with red and white patterns. Around him on the floor are brass plates of red flower petals, a bowl of yellow flower garlands, a small brass kalasha and an oil lamp, with a patterned mat and a sitting person's bare feet at the left edge. The scene is dimly lit by the fire. +1 copiesSeptember 30 20072007-09-30A photograph of a homa fire ritual outdoors beside a large tree. A figure with long swept-back dark hair and a forehead tilak wears an orange saffron robe and sits on a low wooden stool before a square fire pit built from white-painted bricks. Tall orange flames rise from the pit, which is decorated with marigold petals. Brass bowls, a small brass lamp, a pink flower and a silver tray with offerings sit near the pit, and a microphone stands in front of the figure. Swamiji (probable): the figure has long swept-back hair, a tilak and orange saffron robe, cues consistent with the page's claim of Swamiji conducting the Sri Vidhya homa.2006-09-21December 10 20072007-12-10September 30 20072007-09-30A homa fire burns in front of a decorated deity murti on a white stepped altar.
