Four-panel photo collage of a Hindu ritual. Top left, a hand holds a small decorated figure wrapped in red cloth with white flowers. Top right, a man in an orange robe with a gold necklace and white forehead markings sits by brass vessels and a tray of flowers, presenting a flower-decorated object while another person in orange stands at right. Bottom left, a man in orange robes and a long gold bead necklace sits cross-legged holding a brass lamp, with a white bandage on his upper arm. Bottom right, a flame burns in a brass lamp before a flower-covered red and white ritual object on a tray, with brass pots and a standing person in orange at right. +1 copiesOctober 07 20112011-10-07 +1 copiesA man in orange sannyasi-style cloth with a heavy gold bead necklace stands beside a large clay Ganesha murti, adorning it with jewelry and attention. The murti has an orange turban, a red-and-white beaded necklace, gold trim and a white dhoti-like base, and it holds a dark wooden ankusha-like staff. Green leafy trees and a golden arch frame the scene, with red and orange tassels hanging above. A partially visible person in orange stands at the right and another person is seen at the lower left edge. The man is positioned as a priest preparing the deity, and his face is downcast in focus. Ganesh Chaturthi-style worship is suggested by the Ganesha murti being decorated outdoors.2012-09-19A man in saffron-orange robes wears a heavy gold necklace of large beads and a gold pendant, with a small red bindi on his forehead. He stands at left, looking down, and holds a small red object near a large clay Ganesha murti. The murti has an orange face, a red-orange turban, sequined trunk and gold cloth draped over its shoulders, with a black hand raised at right. A green tree and gold-framed backdrop sit behind them, with a fringed red and gold canopy at top. The scene suggests Ganesha decoration in an outdoor setting.2012-09-19Photo 11682766 +1 copiesA multi-panel collage graphic celebrating Ganesha Chaturthi. A central panel shows a large orange-faced Ganesha murti with red flower garlands, a devotee in orange-saffron dhoti and red-orange rudraksha-style mala with hands folded in prayer, and a crowd beneath a tin-roofed pavilion. Surrounding panels show a golden Ganesha idol with marigold garlands, a gilded throne with a seated figure in orange clothing and garlands, a golden palanquin-style vahana with a deity murti in yellow and red garlands, a priest in orange clothing performing aarti, a standing figure in white and blue robes lifting hands beside a decorated murti, and a black-and-white group photo of children in white uniforms. White text overlay reads that SPH's devotion inspires Hindus to celebrate Ganesha as a powerful cosmic being. The panels are photographs, but the image is a collage graphic with no physical people in the frame itself.2023-09-18Photo 11684233November 05 20112011-11-05September 19 20122012-09-19 +1 copiesJanuary 22 20122012-01-22December 07 20112011-12-07Photo 11684003 +1 copies
