Night outdoor gathering at a temple-like courtyard with string lights overhead and a crowd of onlookers behind. In the foreground, several people stand with palms pressed together in namaskar on green leaves laid on the stone floor. A man in an orange dhoti and shawl holds a folded orange cloth and wears a long rudraksha mala and a white tilak. Others wear white dhotis or kurtas with red shawls, and a woman in a white sari and red shawl stands centre with hands joined. A woman in a yellow sari kneels at lower left. Garlands and a dark deity murti appear at the right edge.2015-07-07October 19 20152015-10-19January 02 20162016-01-02February 16 20072007-02-16February 16 20072007-02-16Night-time outdoor event lit by green string lights. A shaved-headed man in saffron-orange robes with a red-striped border and a rudraksha mala holds a woven basket with both hands, extended toward a group of men in white dhotis and white shirts with orange-red shawls draped over their shoulders. The men stand with palms pressed together in anjali, some with white tilak on their foreheads, and some carry white cloth bundles on their shoulders. Behind them, other men in white and orange garments stand in the crowd. The scene suggests a devotional offering or ritual distribution.2016-07-18May 19 20162016-05-19A crowd of devotees stands and sits in a large hall, many wearing white, cream and saffron-orange shawls and sarees. A man in the centre wears a white shirt and white dhoti with a red-orange waist cloth, a rudraksha mala and a white tilak on his forehead, and raises one finger. A woman in a white saree with gold border and a long beaded mala stands beside him, and a woman in a blue and gold saree holds a small white paper. Several people raise their hands and others look toward the front. No deity or a person figure is clearly visible in this frame.2016-05-24A procession walks along a red carpet under a tented pavilion with tan and white draping and stacked chairs. In the foreground, a smiling man in a dark red-orange dhoti and shawl with gold borders, a red turban, and a thick gold-beaded necklace walks forward, a red-and-gold cord visible at his waist. Behind him, several men in saffron-orange robes with gold borders and rudraksha malas follow, along with men in white dhotis and red-orange shawls, and a few women in saffron saris and a child in the background. Tie colours to owners: the lead figure wears the turban and gold necklace; others wear plain white or saffron garments. Strong appearance cues on the lead figure (red turban, gold necklace, saffron-gold attire) are consistent with a person candidate in a ceremonial procession, though the image is not conclusive.2015-07-25A photograph of a large indoor hall with corrugated metal walls and orange wooden beams, where many men stand in rows on striped woven mats. Most wear white dhotis or white shirts with red-orange shawls draped over one shoulder. Several have white identity lanyards around their necks. In the foreground, a bare-chested man with a long rudraksha mala and gold arm bands stands with hands folded at his chest, beside a man in white striped shirt with a red shawl, hands clasped. Hanging orange and multicoloured banners decorate the ceiling, and a gold kalasha-style lamp stand and a framed picture appear in the background.2015-09-11A photograph of a large crowd of men standing indoors in a metal-roofed hall with orange and red striped rugs underfoot. Most wear white dhotis and shirts with red shawls draped over their shoulders, and many wear conference lanyards and rudraksha or bead garlands. A few are bare-chested with gold-bordered white cloth. Orange and white banners and a gilded ornamental structure appear in the background near the back wall. No individual can be confidently identified as a person from appearance; the scene shows devotees and sadhus gathered at a Kumbh Yatra event.2015-09-12May 16 20162016-05-16
