A lit oil lamp is held on a tray by a priest in a white shirt behind him, and brass oil lamps stand nearby. Other priests in matching ceremonial attire stand at left.2014-12-05July 18 20132013-07-18Photograph of a temple ritual before a golden deity shrine decorated with red, yellow and orange marigold garlands. A bald priest in orange and gold ritual cloth raises a flaming camphor lamp toward the central deity murti, which has multiple arms and a crown, seated beside a second golden figure in red and gold clothing. Brass oil lamps stand on either side, and a golden kalasha with a green leaf wrap sits on a stand in front. At lower right, a seated devotee with hair in a bun and an orange shawl faces the shrine. A standing golden statue on the right wears a black cap, a garland and a beaded necklace. Carved stone pillars frame the scene.2015-11-16A temple ritual scene at night in which a priest in a rust-red dhoti and shawl, with a red-and-gold wrap and a garland of red and white flowers around his neck, holds a lit oil lamp or flame before a richly decorated deity murti. An attendant in a red-gold dhoti and a patterned cap stands at left. The deity is adorned with multicolour floral garlands in pink, yellow, white and green, gold jewellery, a crown and ornate necklaces, seated on a gold throne or peetha with a gold kalasha-style vessel and offerings.
