Many people sit on the ground in white and cream clothes, some in saris and pale kurtas, with a few in colourful clothing. A woman in a cream sari with a green border stands on a striped mat runner beside a long red-and-white raised platform where men in white dhotis sit bare-chested with sacred threads. Red-painted walls stand behind, with a lit lamp at right. Several bare-chested priests in white dhotis sit on the left, performing puja. Seated at right on an ornate gold throne with a golden umbrella, a figure in saffron-orange robes sits; the cues are not distinctive enough for a confident identification, so the role is given as a seated figure on a throne. Dozens of seated devotees, mostly men and boys in white and checked shirts, face the stage from the foreground, with some women and children visible at right.2015-08-31Night-time outdoor ritual under an open tin-roofed pavilion with a smoky haze.
