August 15 20092009-08-15January 20 20102010-01-20September 20 20062006-09-20A photograph inside a plain whitewashed hall with a bare concrete floor and barred windows. Two bearded men in white ritual cloth walk toward the viewer, one with a white shawl draped over his head and shoulders, the other in white with a sash. To the right, a man with a shaved head, red forehead mark, and orange robe with a gold-coloured necklace stands smiling. In the doorway behind them, more people in white and orange, and a figure in red and blue robes, are visible. A small brass plaque is mounted on the left wall. No a person candidate is distinguishable by the qualifying cues; the bearded men wear ordinary white clothing and the orange-robed man has no distinctive adornments beyond the necklace, so identity is uncertain. Approximately five to six people are visible.2009-08-06A photograph of a group walking across a dusty courtyard in front of a white-painted concrete building with an open glass-and-aluminium door. In the foreground a man with long dark hair tied up wears a flowing saffron-orange robe and gestures with his right hand; he has a bare upper body with a wrap over the shoulder and appears to be leading the group. Behind him, several people in white ritual clothes follow, and a man in orange cloth stands near a red metal frame at right. Some followers wear white dhotis and kurtas with necklaces. A visible sign inside the doorway is not legible. The mood is an arrival or procession at an ashram-type compound.2007-12-07Indoor photo in a tiled hall with white walls, barred windows and a granite-topped counter at lower left. Four men in orange saffron robes and a few men in white shirts and dhotis stand together. A bearded man with long hair in orange robes and a wrist bangle stands at the counter, while a man in orange with a rudraksha-style mala and a sannyasi's wrap gestures toward the wall. A younger man in orange, with a mark on his forehead, walks at right, gesturing toward the blank tiled wall beside a small wooden stool. Two older men in white stand at left near the counter.2009-11-25A photograph taken indoors in a plain white-walled corridor with a doorway and grille window behind. A smiling man with long dark swept-back hair, a red tilak on his forehead, a rudraksha mala and an orange saffron robe stands centre-frame, appearing to walk through. Beside him a younger man in white clothes wears an orange shawl. Behind them, men in white shirts and an orange-shawled attendant stand near the doorway, and a seated woman in a red sari sits at left near a table. Swamiji (probable) appearance-based label applies to the centre figure, based on long swept-back hair, saffron robe and rudraksha mala.2007-01-12A photograph of an indoor room with a tiled floor where a man in an orange saffron robe and orange dhoti with a red border stands barefoot at centre with palms pressed together in namaste. He has long dark hair, a beard and a rudraksha-style bead necklace. Behind him a line of people in white kurta and dhoti or white salwar clothing, several wearing orange lanyards with ID cards and small tricolour badges, stand barefoot with hands folded. A woman in white stands at right of the group. A man in an orange shirt and dark trousers stands arms crossed by the wall at right. A doorway and window with a wire mesh grille are behind them.2009-08-15A photograph of an office entrance being opened, with a long-haired figure in a flowing saffron-orange robe and a dark rudraksha mala walking through the doorway, hands held together at the chest. Swamiji (probable): long swept-back hair, saffron robe and rudraksha mala. Behind him, an older man in white shirt and white dhoti walks in, and another man in white shirt carries a tray. The doorway is decorated with a green leaf torana and a strand of flower garland. Two or three onlookers in light clothing stand outside a barred window on the right. Bare white-tiled floor and pale walls.2010-02-16A photograph of people walking through a wide, pillared hall with an upper balcony railing and a metal lattice gate on the left. In the centre, a man wears a saffron-orange turban, saffron-orange robes, a long rudraksha mala and sandals, carrying a brown shoulder bag and smiling while gesturing. Beside him on the right, a man in white clothes and an orange shawl walks barefoot. A man in white kurta and trousers walks at left, and a man in white shirt follows behind. Behind them, women in cotton saris stand and sit along the walls, and a man in white clothes holds the gate on the far left. The overall scene is a bright indoor institutional space.2006-12-15A photograph inside a bright, plain hall with a corridor of pale walls and a wooden bookshelf of books on the left. Many people in white ritual clothes crowd the room: boys and girls in white dhotis, kurtas and salwar-style outfits, several with orange-saffron shawls draped over their shoulders, and a few women in white sarees. Several are walking toward an open doorway. Framed photographs in orange-tinted frames hang on the walls, and a wooden desk with books and a small framed picture stands at the right. Ceiling fans and fluorescent tubes are visible overhead.2007-12-07A photograph taken inside a hall with white tiled floor and blue grille partitions. A man in white kurta and white dhoti walks forward on the left, wearing a pendant necklace. In the centre, a man in a white shirt and white trousers stands in a grilled doorway beside a figure in white robes with an orange shawl. On the right, a long-haired figure in an orange saffron robe with a rudraksha mala stands at the doorway, with a white chair row at the far left. Visible cues are limited to the orange-robed figure's long hair, saffron clothing and mala, which are consistent with the page's a person reference, but the appearance is not certain enough to confirm identity. Other visible people are in white ritual or everyday clothing.2006-11-26
