A central figure in a saffron-orange robe, an orange turban and a multicoloured flower garland stands at a pit in the ground lined with marigold petals and sand, reaching over yellow bricks and offering flowers or grains. Around him, devotees in white dhotis and shirts stand with palms pressed together in namaskar. Behind, saffron-clad priests hold a tray of offerings and a brass pot, and a kalasha vessel sits at the lower right edge of the pit. Bhoomi pooja, a worship of Mother Earth, is being performed.2006-11-24Outdoor ground-breaking puja on bare red earth among leafless trees and palms. A small young sapling stands in the centre, encircled by a ring of flower petals and garlands. Beside a freshly planted sapling, a man in an orange robe and orange turban wears a white flower garland and holds his hands in anjali, with a rudraksha mala visible; a shaved-headed attendant in white stands nearby. Several people in white dhotis and white sarees, some with yellow shawls, stand with folded hands, and a patterned carpet, brass lamps and a white cloth with flowers lie on the ground at left. A barefoot man in saffron-orange robes and a long orange-beaded mala walks across the glowing ash-covered pit while a man in white dhoti and shirt with a long pole rakes the path beside him. Behind them, a crowd of devotees watches, many in white kurtas and dhotis, a woman in a pink sari, and a woman in a cream sari with gold border. A brass pot sits near a tree, and a drummer in a blue shirt plays a large drum at the lower right. A second saffron-clad man stands nearby in the background, and a man in white stretches an arm toward the walker.2008-12-31A homa fire pit lined with marigold garlands and a white-edged border, with a flame burning in the square trench at the bottom of the frame. Around it stand a crowd of men in orange and saffron dhotis and shawls, a few shirtless with gold necklaces and rudraksha malas, and one in a red turban holding a brass plate of offerings. A bearded man in white dhoti with a gold necklace and rudraksha mala stands at the centre, one hand raised in a mudra. Another orange-clad man holds a silver plate of fruit, and an outstretched arm on the right grips a long brass ladle. Small oil lamps sit near the pit edge. The scene suggests a fire ritual with offerings, though no clear appearance-based a person candidate is established.2015-01-13Outdoor photograph of a ceremonial gathering under a canopy of red and pink drapes. In the centre, a man in orange robes with a long white-and-red garland stands with palms pressed together, beside a fire pit set in a low stone-edged platform decorated with flower garlands, marigolds and small metal oil lamps.
