A single man in saffron-orange robes with a wrapped shawl and a beaded necklace stands barefoot on a white stone platform beside the trunk, hands at his sides. To the right, a deity murti with four arms and dark stone form sits in a white arched shrine framed by a yellow backdrop, draped in purple cloth, with a large mound of red kumkum or flower offerings at its base. Red prayer mats and a low stone bench lie on sandy ground, with a tiled walkway and brick walls in the background. The figure's appearance is consistent with the page's a person reference, but the identification is uncertain.2013-03-17Outdoors beneath a large banyan-type tree with aerial roots, a bare-chested man in saffron-orange dhoti and shawl stands on a small woven mat, his head bowed. He wears a large gold ceremonial necklace, a rudraksha mala and a gold armlet, and has long swept-back dark hair. Beside him a black stone deity murti seated on a dais under a white arched niche with a saffron-orange drape is garlanded with white and red flower garlands and decorated with a gold crown and necklace. A large mound of red kumkum-dusted offerings surrounds the base, with small pink and red mats on the ground. The deity wears a red cloth, red garland, red headband and a necklace of red beads, and a mound of red offerings lies at its base. The standing man wears an orange-brown sleeveless top, an orange dhoti with a yellow border, a rudraksha mala and bracelets, with his hair tied in a topknot, hands folded in namaskar. Small brass lamps sit near the base, and a red-and-pink mat lies on the floor. A green bucket sits at the right edge. The scene suggests worship at an outdoor shrine.2013-01-18May 03 20122012-05-03A photograph in an open shaded courtyard beneath a large banyan tree with hanging aerial roots.
