Behind him on a tiled altar stand is a framed portrait of a smiling man in an orange turban and orange robe, a labelled portrait of Paramahamsa Nithyananda is not legible here, and the portrait is garlanded with orange marigolds. Two clay pots with coconuts flank the altar, with a brass kalasha or lamp, a deity murti in a green sari garlanded with marigolds, and a metal pot, bananas and offerings on a mat in front.
