A seated man in white with an orange shawl and a bead necklace holds a small offering up at chest level while a shaved-headed man in white stands beside him. Around them, standing devotees in white and orange shawls raise their hands in prayer or hold items. At lower right, a person in orange robes sits on a patterned cloth before a leaf plate of fruit and flowers, and a woman in a gold-and-green sari stands at the edge. Silver vessels and small cups sit on the floor. The scene suggests a ritual offering or satsang.2008-01-14September 18 20152015-09-18 +1 copiesNight-time outdoor ritual at Adi Kailasa, Bengaluru. A man in orange robes sits on a red cushioned seat wearing a long brown rudraksha mala, holding a shallow plate, while a man in a white dhoti and orange shawl ties or adjusts a cord around an orange cloth held by another robed attendant. A brass vessel with a green leaf sits on a small wooden table at left. Several devotees in white and orange shawls, some holding rudraksha malas, stand behind. The scene resembles a flag-hoisting or ceremonial tying of a sacred cloth.2008-03-26A seated figure in an orange turban, orange robe and a thick gold-beaded necklace leans forward to tie a white thread around the head of a young boy in white clothes and an orange-red sash who kneels on the floor. Beside him a bald priest with white forehead markings, a red-and-orange shawl and rudraksha beads ties or hands a thread, while another man in orange stands behind. A small metal bowl of rice sits on a red cushioned seat. Seated devotees in white and red sashes fill the background of a hall with orange drapes and a golden pillar.2015-07-20Four men stand on a dirt courtyard in front of a low tiled-roof building with orange curtains and a white wall. The central figure wears a long saffron-orange robe wrapped over the body and has both hands raised to the back of his head. Two men on the right wear white kurtas with orange shawls, one of them bald, and a man on the left in white with an orange shawl faces him. A small wall lamp and green shrubs are visible. The central figure's long saffron robe and pose do not on their own establish an identity, so the candidate is unsure.2007-12-07A photograph of a padapuja in a temple hall. A seated figure in orange robes sits on an orange-cushioned throne, hands resting on the armrests, with a gold waist chain, forehead markings and a bindi. A man in a white dhoti and shirt bends low to wash or honour the seated figure's feet, while a shaved-headed man in white with an orange shawl stands at left. Two women in white, one with a long braid and an ID badge, stand at right. Behind them stand a stone shrine with a deity murti decorated with garlands and brass lamps, and a small framed image. Orange curtains frame the hall.2010-07-22Three men in ochre and saffron robes walk down a concrete step at a building entrance, with a red carpet on the floor. The man in front on the left has a shaved head, glasses, a rudraksha mala and gold bangles, and wears a rust-coloured dhoti with yellow borders. The middle man wears an orange shawl over white dhoti and an orange cap. The man on the right wears a red turban, a long gold-bead necklace, and a rust dhoti with yellow borders, and is smiling. Behind them a man in white dhoti and a rudraksha mala stands partly visible, and a blue-and-gold figure appears on a wall panel behind a wire mesh gate.
