The central man wears a plain white shirt and white trousers with a lanyard-style ID badge, and his face is toward the camera. Behind him, other men in white and in a checked shirt walk in the same direction, with potted shrubs lining the path and a tall pole with an orange flag on the left. Dark trees and buildings fill the background.2006-12-17December 17 20062006-12-17A large crowd of devotees walks along a paved path lined with trees and flagpoles flying red and pink flags. Most people wear white shirts, white dhotis and white kurtas, and some carry cloth bags and small packages. A bald, older man in white dhoti and shirt walks near the center, while a man in a white kurta and dark trousers gestures with his hand toward the group on the right. A man with a yellow shawl draped over his shoulders and a white kurta walks among the crowd. Several women in white and light-coloured saris and salwars follow behind. Trees and a building stand in the background under a pale sky.2006-12-17A nighttime photograph of a line of men walking barefoot along a dirt path, several holding small white plates with food. They wear white shirts and white dhotis or trousers, with name badges clipped to their shirts. Corrugated metal sheets lie along the right side of the path. The man at the front right wears a white shirt, dark trousers and an orange-red wristband, holding a plate. Others trail behind in the dim light.2006-12-17A group of about a dozen men and women stand in a loose cluster outdoors in front of a white building with a red-framed doorway and a dark metal cabinet wall on the right. Most men wear white shirts with white dhotis, and several wear rudraksha or bead necklaces. A woman in a white sari with a gold border and a dark beaded necklace stands near the center, holding a small pink bag. An older man with a white beard on the far right wears a white shirt and dhoti with arms folded. Some are talking together, others are looking off to the side. Dry earth and a bit of greenery are visible in the background. The setting suggests a break between sessions at an ashram program.2006-10-07Night photo of a group walking along a paved path beside a multi-storey building with lit windows and a street lamp. In the centre a young man in saffron-orange robes and a rudraksha mala walks with his right hand raised in greeting, flanked by another saffron-robed figure. Men in white shirts and white dhotis wear black rudraksha malas with small pendant medallions, and one white-clad man carries a white box with red lettering. A man at left with a tilak on his forehead looks toward the camera. The white-clad men surround the orange-robed figures as they walk.2009-11-25A night-time photograph of a crowd walking along a dim path past a chain-link fence. In the foreground, a man in a white short-sleeved shirt and blue-grey trousers looks down at a small booklet in his hands. Beside him, a man in glasses and a white shirt with brown trousers walks forward. A woman in a pale pink sari with floral print walks behind them. On the right, a man in a white turban and white shirt walks alongside an older man with grey hair and a white shirt in the lower right corner. Several other people in white shirts stand in the blurred background. No swami is clearly visible, so no candidate is identified.2010-01-09January 12 20072007-01-12
