Close photo of an aarti in progress: a hand raised high holds a brass multi-flame oil lamp with several lit wicks and a decorative stand, flames glowing warmly. Other brass lamps with lit flames are blurred in the background held by other raised arms. Partial figures of people with dark hair and a red-and-white wrist thread are visible at the right edge and behind the lamps, against a pale pink-white backdrop.2016-05-20May 20 20162016-05-20Close photo of an evening aarti at a river ghat. In the foreground a hand raises a silver aarti lamp with a long handle and bell-shaped base, its multi-tiered flame burning brightly. Behind it, blurred devotees raise their own lamps; one person in the background has a white tilak on the forehead and dark hair. Several other glowing lamp flames are visible in the soft background, and a pale wall or tent fabric fills the backdrop.2016-05-02May 20 20162016-05-20September 09 20162016-09-09November 01 20112011-11-01Close-up photograph of two hands raising small brass oil lamps with lit wicks, held aloft against a blurred interior background. The lamp on the left is held by a hand at the frame's edge; the right hand, with a dark wristband, holds a lamp with a flame at its centre. Out-of-focus heads of other people are visible at the bottom of the frame. The scene suggests a lamp-lighting offering during a devotional gathering.2017-08-04A close-up photograph of a brass multi-tiered oil lamp (aarti lamp) with several flames burning upward, smoke curling through the air against a reddish background. A partial hand is visible holding the base of the lamp. The lamp has ornate curved brass arms and small cup-shaped wicks. No people are clearly visible apart from the hand, and no a person candidate appears in the frame.2016-05-24March 06 20182018-03-06A close view of a brass multi-branched oil lamp (arati lamp) with five lit wicks, their flames rising in warm gold against a blurred background of reflective metal and glowing bokeh. Only a fingertip holding the stand and a few pink flower petals appear at the bottom edge. No people are clearly visible.2012-05-13 +1 copiesA close photograph of a hand holding a brass aarti lamp with a wide circular tray and a central wick cup, flames burning around its edge and smoke rising. The ornate brass stand has curled scroll arms and small bells hanging below. The background is a softly blurred warm room with a wall and shelves.2016-08-09A photograph of a brass multi-branched oil lamp held in a person's hand against a dark background. Five flames burn on the lamp's arms, with wisps of smoke rising above. The hand wears a thin bracelet at the wrist. A bright blurred light appears at the top of the frame. No faces are visible, and no clearly identifiable person is shown, so a person is unsure. Only the hand and lamp are visible, and the lamp is an oil lamp rather than a fire pit.2016-12-07
