A photograph of a homa fire ritual on a raised stone platform beside a red-painted wall with a carved wooden doorway. A bare-chested priest with white sacred-thread-style cloth and ash markings sits at left, pouring from a ladle over the flames of a fire pit. A woman in a white sari with gold border stands at the fire beside a man in white dhoti and shirt, and another woman in white clothes stands with hands folded. A bare-chested priest in a saffron-and-gold cloth stands at right near a silver lamp and a gold-trimmed red-draped seat with flower garlands. Another woman in orange stands at far left. Oil lamps and offering plates lie on the platform.2015-11-28February 20 20162016-02-20 +1 copiesJanuary 30 20162016-01-30April 10 20162016-04-10February 20 20162016-02-20 +1 copiesA homa fire ceremony in a courtyard against red walls, with a fire burning in a raised square pit decorated with coloured kolam-like rangoli, yellow and pink, and surrounded by fruit, flowers, coconuts and brass vessels. Seated priests wear saffron and orange cloths and rudraksha or gold necklaces; one bare-chested priest wears a green head cloth and another sits near a brass vessel. In the foreground, a priest in white dhoti with an orange-saffron cloth kneels beside a fire pit with a burning flame, surrounded by brass kalasha pots and flower garlands. Several men in white dhotis, some bare-chested with sacred threads, stand and attend the ritual on the raised platform. A woman in a white sari with red border and a man in white shirt stand near the doorway, and women in white saris stand at a metal detector gate on the right. The setting suggests a homa or fire ritual with offerings.2016-01-30 +1 copiesJanuary 30 20162016-01-30
