A long dark plait of hair hangs down the back, and a gold-and-bead necklace is visible at the neck. Aerial roots hang and spread around the trunk, and the lower trunks form a dense cluster beside the figure. The person wears a dark rudraksha-style necklace and has long dark hair pulled back. He wears a dark rudraksha mala around his neck and has his dark hair tied in a bun. Sandy ground, a small stone structure and green foliage surround the tree. Whether this man is a person cannot be determined from appearance; he is described by role as a devotee in orange robes.2011-02-08February 23 20112011-02-23A barefoot man in flowing saffron-orange cloth stands with his back to the camera, leaning his forehead and one hand against the thick aerial roots of a large banyan tree. A wooden-bead rudraksha-style mala hangs around his neck, and his dark hair is tied up at the back. Behind him, a paved stone platform and a green-painted pole sit among leafy branches, and sand with a few dry leaves lies at the base of the roots. The pose is one of quiet devotion at the sacred tree. The figure has distinctive saffron robes and a rudraksha mala, but his face is not visible, so identity is uncertain.2011-02-23February 25 20132013-02-25A photograph of a large banyan tree with many thick, aerial roots and trunks forming a dense cluster outdoors. In the foreground on the right, an elderly man in a saffron-orange robe and a matching orange turban stands with his arm outstretched, touching the bark of the tree.
