Outdoor fire-ritual scene at a homa or yagna. A woman in a white sari with a thin orange border and rudraksha mala sits cross-legged with hands folded, eyes closed, in front of a small brick fire pit holding a brass bowl, a ladle, offerings and a red cloth. Beside her a man in white shirt and white dhoti with a rudraksha mala and name badge sits with hands clasped. To the right a woman in white and orange shawl, a man in white with grey hair and a seated young man in white shirt also meditate in prayer. Several other attendees, some in saffron and red, sit on mats on the ground and a figure in a wheelchair appears behind. No a person candidate is shown.2006-12-26A large seated crowd of devotees fills an open-sided pavilion under a metal roof with steel pillars. Most men wear white dhotis and white shirts, some with lanyards or pendant necklaces; many women wear cream or gold-bordered silk saris, one in a bright red sari and another in a red and gold saree. Several seated people hold brass bowls and small offerings on low platforms. Some devotees have their hands folded in namaskar, and many are smiling. Behind them, steps rise to a further seated audience, and to the right a decorated shrine with garlands is visible. Many devotees sit on mats and cloth, most men bare-chested in white dhotis with rudraksha malas, many women in cream, white and yellow saris with gold necklaces. A man with a full beard wears an orange turban and a white dhoti near the centre, and a bald man in the front row sits with palms pressed together in prayer.
