December 25 20062006-12-25A photograph of a group of people walking in a line along a dusty dirt path lined with scrub, rubble and green trees. In the foreground a woman in white with an orange-bordered shawl and rudraksha mala walks on the left. Behind her a woman in a red top and blue skirt, and a blonde woman in an orange-brown outfit, carry small bottles. A bald man in a white kurta and white dhoti with a red-bead mala walks at right, with others in white, orange and green clothing behind. Several people carry red-brown bags and a blue-sleeved figure walks at the far right. Most wear white kurtas, saris and dupattas; a few women wear yellow lanyards and a woman in the foreground wears a white sari with a pale shawl. A man at the front left carries a white plastic bag. Some participants wear pink or green sashes. Large signboards stand at the right edge of the road.2009-06-17A long procession of devotees walks along a dirt road lined with a wire fence, palm trees and tall utility poles under a pale sky. Many women and men in white clothing carry brass pots or vessels balanced on their heads, some with one hand raised to steady them. Several women wear saris in white, cream and blue with blue lanyard-style cords, and a woman in a beige sari walks near the front. No single figure is clearly identifiable as a person, and the scene shows only devotees and attendants in the line.2009-12-28December 22 20102010-12-22December 25 20062006-12-25December 12 20162016-12-12A large group of devotees walks single file along a dirt path through dry scrub and trees toward a distant pile of pale stone. In the foreground a grey stone lingam sits on a flat grey base at the lower left. Most people wear white kurtas, white dhotis or white salwar, with a few in pastel green, peach, brown and olive. Several women wear saris or salwar kameez in red, pink and purple, and a few carry bags over their shoulders. The scene is lit by low warm late-day sunlight.2016-12-12December 12 20162016-12-12A large outdoor procession on a dusty path under hazy morning light, with trees and distant ratha-style canopies behind. In the foreground, young women and girls walk toward the camera: one in a white and cream checked sari with a purple head covering, one in a mustard-yellow cardigan over white with glasses, one in a rust-brown zip jacket, and one in a pink polka-dot salwar with a pink shawl and shoulder bag. Behind them, many people in white ritual clothing and plain shirts follow, some in green, blue and red garments, with a few canopies and parasols visible at left.2006-12-25December 25 20082008-12-25
