November 14 20052005-11-14A large framed portrait mounted on the roof of a moving vehicle, with a white jasmine garland draped over it and scattered pink petals on the roof. The portrait shows a smiling man in an orange-saffron turban and orange robe, raising one hand in blessing, labelled "Paramahamsa SRI NITHYANANDA SWAMIGAL" in print. In the foreground, through the windshield, a man in white clothes sits inside the vehicle, and a few more people in white and orange are visible at the roadside. Trees, a pink building and a pale sky form the background. The portrait is a printed depiction, not a person in the scene; the candidate's cues are a saffron turban and robe with a jasmine garland, which is probable Swamiji on the printed portrait.2005-11-14A white and yellow utility van with a yellow front bumper and grille drives along a dirt track lined with palm trees. A large banner on the van's roof reads 'Nithyananda' in red Tamil script with a smaller line of Tamil text above, flanked by portrait printings of a smiling figure in saffron on the left and a deity image on the right. Three people stand on the roof rack wearing white hair caps and light coloured clothing, and two people sit in the front seats, one driving. A small crowd of onlookers in casual clothing stands at the roadside.2012-01-07November 14 20052005-11-14A street procession in front of a yellow multi-storey building with green shutters and a bus marked in Tamil. A man in an orange-saffron robe with a long white flower garland and a rudraksha-style neck garland walks at centre, with long swept-back hair; his appearance is consistent with a sannyasi and he may be a person, though the face and build are not clearly enough to confirm. Around him, devotees in white dhotis and shirts walk barefoot, one bare-chested man in a red-orange shawl with a red garland, and a woman in a cream sari with a brown border carries a brass tray of flowers, bananas and fruit. A man in white at right carries a ceremonial staff-like object.2009-07-17October 16 20062006-10-16A street procession in Tamil Nadu moves past a city wall and roadside buildings. Devotees in saffron and orange shirts and sarongs walk among people in white dhotis and shirts, some holding orange and red flags and a yellow-and-red parasol. A drummer in white beats a large drum at right. Behind them, a large photographic poster of a smiling woman in orange hangs on a float, and a banner with Tamil text and a portrait of a man in a dark suit is mounted on a richly carved stone shrine structure. A uniformed police officer stands at the left edge, and a man in an orange shirt walks in the foreground.2009-01-30October 16 20062006-10-16A street procession in a small Tamil town under bright sky. In the foreground, saffron-clad men wearing rudraksha malas and orange turbans walk beside red and gold ceremonial umbrellas with tasselled fringes. Behind them, white-clad devotees follow, and an orange flag is raised at right. Shopfronts, a turquoise two-storey building, a white car and a telecom tower line the road.2009-01-12A photograph of a street procession in a Tamil Nadu town. A decorated golden ratha, a chariot-like float with a gilded canopy and a dome, is strung with marigold garlands and orange cloth, and moves along a road lined with overhead power cables. Devotees in white dhotis and white shirts walk alongside and behind it, and several carry orange flags and saffron-coloured banners. A uniformed police officer in khaki walks in the road, a white car and a yellow auto-rickshaw pass, and a roadside shop with a blue tarpaulin stands on the right. A bus and a large billboard appear in the background. No individual can be identified as a person from this view.2009-01-12January 04 20122012-01-04December 30 20092009-12-30
