July 31 20172017-07-31Close-up of a pair of bare feet resting on a silver tray filled with pink and yellow flower petals and a few red blossoms, placed on an ornate silver pedestal. The wearer's legs are draped in a rust-red cloth with a gold border. Two hands holding marigold petals are at the edges: one at the left, one at the right wearing gold bangles. Silver bowls sit to the sides and a dark-haired person is partly visible at the far left. The scene suggests a padapuja, a ritual foot-worship offering with flowers. A bare-footed figure's identity cannot be determined from appearance alone.2017-07-31 +1 copiesJuly 31 20172017-07-31Close view of a seated figure's bare feet in a silver plate during a padapuja foot-worship ritual. The feet rest on a gold-embossed dais, with pink flower petals and green leaves scattered over them and around the silver tray. A pair of small golden lamps sit on the plate beside the feet. The figure wears orange-saffron robes that drape over the knees. On the left, a person in white clothing with a bangled wrist and a silver bracelet reaches in to touch or offer near the feet. A silver elephant-handled edge of the tray is visible at right.2009-08-15A bare foot rests on a silver tray filled with red and pink rose petals, with a small silver lamp and a bowl of flowers beside it. Water or milk pours from a silver elephant-head spout into a silver vessel below. Above, a person in an orange garment with gold border stands near a second person in a maroon sari, and a hand holds a small silver cup. The scene appears to be a foot-washing ritual (padapuja). No face is visible, and the pictured people are not counted as identified individuals.2012-03-31July 31 20172017-07-31July 11 20092009-07-11A photograph of a bare foot resting on a silver plate of flower petals during a padapuja ritual. The sole and toes are prominent, and the lower leg is draped in a rust-brown silk garment with a gold border. Around the foot sit silver repoussé bowls and a silver spouted vessel, with pink and orange roses, yellow marigold petals and white flowers scattered over the tray. Small silver cups hold liquid offerings, and a silver sprinkler with a flower stem rests nearby. The visible person's foot is the only body part shown; no face is visible. The setting appears to be a ritual washing of the feet with flowers and offerings.2013-12-29August 15 20092009-08-15
