A large, ancient banyan tree dominates an open dirt ground, its wide spreading branches and dense green canopy casting shade across the scene. Aerial prop roots hang down and thicken into a massive trunk, which rises from a low raised concrete platform. Morning or evening sunlight filters through the leaves at left. Several white metal poles and a small green structure stand nearby, and a few figures in white clothing are faintly visible at the far left edge. Trees and a red-brick wall frame the background.2010-11-12November 12 20102010-11-12April 26 20132013-04-26November 12 20102010-11-12April 26 20132013-04-26June 14 20132013-06-14June 27 20132013-06-27A large, ancient banyan tree dominates the scene, its broad canopy and many aerial prop roots spreading across a dusty reddish-brown ground. Numerous aerial prop roots hang down from the branches, some reaching the ground and forming additional trunks. Circular white-painted platforms with low walls surround the trunk bases, and a few small wooden and stone structures sit beneath the canopy. A rough stone outcrop lies in the foreground, and a red-and-white painted structure appears at the left edge. At left, a small shrine holds a stone lingam draped with an orange-saffron cloth, set on a raised circular platform with a dark red-brown mound of offerings. A low circular stone wall encircles the tree base, and a small shallow pool or basin sits among the trunks. No people are visible.2012-11-06
