A close photo of a bare-chested man with short dark hair and closed eyes receiving a blessing, as a hand wearing a gold ring and beaded red-and-gold bracelet rests on his forehead. He holds his other palm up in a gesture of reverence. He wears a white sacred thread and red cord around his neck. Behind him, a person in orange robes stands, and a white cup sits at the bottom edge beside a clear glass pillar. The scene suggests a ritual blessing or initiation.2018-04-22April 26 20182018-04-26April 22 20182018-04-22April 24 20182018-04-24April 22 20182018-04-22Close photo of a shirtless young man with dark tousled hair, eyes closed and head bowed, receiving a blessing as an older person's hand rests on the crown of his head. The hand wears a gold bangle and a red thread with rudraksha beads. The background is blurred, showing a figure in a yellow garment and a dark red curtain. The person presenting the blessing is not clearly identifiable, so a person is unsure.2018-03-25March 25 20182018-03-25April 20 20182018-04-20 +1 copiesA photograph of a ritual initiation at an indoor hall with a red curtain behind. In the foreground a young bare-chested man with short black hair stands with eyes closed and palms pressed together in anjali, wearing a thin white sacred thread and a small pendant. A man in the right foreground, with a trimmed beard and gold bracelet and red thread on his wrist, places his right hand on the young man's head in blessing. Behind them an older man with long matted hair, tilak on his forehead and a cream-and-gold shawl over his shoulders and a gold necklace stands near a golden ornate object, possibly a deity murti or ritual vessel. Other people in white dhotis and saffron-toned clothing stand in the background, slightly out of focus.2017-05-05A photograph of a ritual blessing in a temple setting. A man with long dark swept-back hair, white forehead marking, rudraksha bracelets and a rust-red shawl over his bare shoulders, and wearing a heavy gold ceremonial necklace, places his right palm on the crown of a shaved-headed, bare-chested devotee who bows his head forward. The devotee wears rudraksha beads and white ash on his forehead. Behind them a priest in white clothes with a rudraksha mala stands, and orange and yellow drapery and a silver-toned decorative item fill the background. Swamiji (probable): the seated blessing figure shows long swept-back hair, rudraksha bracelets, a gold ceremonial necklace and a rust-red shawl.2017-10-01October 12 20162016-10-12Close photograph of a devotee with short curly dark hair and a white garment being blessed by a priest whose hand rests on the top of his head, while another person's palms are pressed together in namaskar at the right edge.
