November 10 20062006-11-10November 10 20062006-11-10A night-time outdoor gathering in the Himalayas. A crowd of many people in orange and saffron clothing sits in dense rows facing a raised platform lit by a bright lamp on the right. On the platform a figure in orange robes sits centrally, flanked by two decorative hanging banners with floral and ornamental designs. A banner reading in a non-Latin script hangs between the poles. Dark sky and mountain-side darkness surround the scene.2005-05-25A photograph of a convention hall with a large audience seated in rows, seen from behind, many wearing white shirts and some in colourful clothes. At the front left, a man in an orange-saffron robe and a white dhoti sits cross-legged on a raised orange-draped seat beside a small table with a lamp and a microphone stand. A carved stone relief of deities stands on the wall behind him. At the right, a speaker in white stands at a wooden podium beside an ornate decorated archway with colourful garlands. The room has warm yellow lighting.2004-07-26 +1 copiesJune 22 20082008-06-22A dim indoor hall filled with a seated audience, mostly women in saris and older men in white shirts and dhotis. In the centre, a standing man in a white short-sleeved shirt with a floral embroidered placket holds a microphone on a stand, speaking to the crowd. Behind him stands a large golden-yellow decorated pot or urn. Light fixtures and plain cream walls frame the room.November 10 20062006-11-10Dramatic silhouette photograph in profile against a pale blue-lavender backdrop. A dark figure's head is shown facing left, with the face in full shadow, showing a prominent nose, lips, chin and swept hair at the top edge. The image is a studio-style silhouette with no other people, objects or ritual setting visible.2006-11-10Night photograph of an outdoor gathering in the Himalayas. A dense crowd of silhouetted devotees fills the foreground, many with heads covered and wearing dark or saffron-toned clothing. Behind them a small raised stage carries a banner with printed text and two round decorated panels hanging on poles. A lone figure in pale clothing sits or stands at the centre of the stage. A bus or vehicle is visible at the right edge under a dark sky.2005-05-25A night photograph of a large outdoor gathering in a dark setting, with a crowd of devotees in saffron and orange clothing filling the foreground. Behind them, a raised platform stands under a banner with lettering and two round orange decorative lanterns or lamps hanging on poles at either side. A figure in orange robes stands on the platform near the center, lit by warm light. A bright lamp on the right illuminates a tent or structure edge. The scene appears to be a nighttime satsang or public address.2005-05-25A dark silhouette photograph in profile against a pale blue background shows a person's head and upper shoulders, with long hair swept back and a faint beard outline. The figure is shadowed, so no clothing, adornments, or activity are clearly visible. A purple logo with a white bird sits at the upper left, and a is in the lower right. Identity cannot be determined from the silhouette alone2006-11-10A photo of a seated speaker on a raised stage at a convention, wearing an orange-saffron robe with long dark hair swept back, seated cross-legged on a white throne-like chair with orange cushions. A microphone stand stands beside him, a water bottle and a small flower arrangement sit on a white-draped side table, and a blue draped backdrop fills the background. In the foreground, rows of seated audience members in white and pale shirts face the stage, most with their backs or heads visible. The appearance of the seated speaker is consistent with the probable identity cues of long swept-back hair and saffron clothing, so he is labelled as a person in this in-person scene. The audience is in the foreground and partially visible, so the count falls in the 21-100 range.2009-02-15
