Photograph of four men in a temple interior with a red-painted pillar, a wooden door and a lamp at left. On the far right, a man with long swept-back dark hair, wearing an orange shawl with a gold ornamental necklace and flower garland, presses his palms together and smiles broadly. At left, a bearded man in an orange turban and orange wrap, with a dark rudraksha mala, speaks and gestures. Two younger men stand between them, one bare-chested in white dhoti holding a brass tray with a plantain-leaf arrangement and white flower garland, the other in a teal cloth with a sandalwood tripundra mark. Straw bales are stacked behind. The scene suggests a temple visit or pada puja setting.2009-08-11August 11 20092009-08-11Photo taken at night in a temple corridor with red-painted pillars and a patterned floor. Beside him a bare-chested young man in a white dhoti holds a brass plate with a garland, betel leaves and a pink cloth. On the right a bare-chested man with white forehead markings, rudraksha mala and a teal wrap holds green leaves. A white-clad man stands at the far left edge. The bearded man's appearance is uncertain for identification, so he is described by role only.2009-08-11A photograph taken indoors at night in a temple-like hall with red and turquoise painted pillars and a small brass oil lamp on a ledge at left. A bare-chested priest in an orange-brown turban and rust-coloured dhoti, with white ash markings and a beaded mala, holds a golden ornament with a white disc and red tassel over the head of a long-haired man in an orange robe, who bends forward and smiles. Another person in a teal garment stands behind. The scene suggests a blessing with a sacred ornament; the photo is watermarked by the archive, which is not described.2009-08-11Indoor photo beside tropical banana-leaf plants. In the centre, a bald man in orange robes and rimless glasses with a red tilak smiles while holding a golden kalasha-style vessel decorated with flowers. In the foreground, a figure seen from behind wears a tall orange turban, long dark swept-back hair and an orange wrap that leaves the upper back bare; the figure is turned toward the man with the vessel. At left, a smiling young man wears white robes with a gold-bordered dhoti, a sacred thread and a white tripundra mark, and a red-and-white striped cloth is partly visible at the edge. The vessel suggests a ritual setting, though no specific ceremony is clearly shown.June 12 20042004-06-12December 30 20072007-12-30Outdoor evening photo at a temple-like area under a metal-roofed shelter with a red and gold fringed canopy overhead.
