January 1st 2013A photograph of a temple ritual at a deity shrine decorated with marigold and multicolour flower garlands. Two large golden-faced deity murtis sit side by side, one wearing a red and gold crown and jewelled necklaces, the other in a red silk sari with gold ornaments. In front, a tall golden kalasha stands wrapped in garlands. A man in a long saffron-orange robe with long dark hair and a flower garland stands on the raised platform holding a small lamp toward the deities. A second person in orange clothing kneels at the lower left, reaching up toward the offering. Potted flowers and a brass lamp stand decorate the sides of the shrine under a plain ceiling.2009-12-24January 04 20152015-01-04A priest in a rust-orange dhoti and matching shawl, with a bare upper body, a red and gold sash, rudraksha-style beads and a multi-coloured flower garland, holds a flaming camphor lamp on a silver stand in his right hand and rings a handbell in his left. He stands at left before a gold-adorned deity murti and two seated figures, one on a gilded throne with a crown and gold jewellery. The deity murti is draped in garlands of orange, red, yellow, purple and white flowers and wears a gold crown and necklaces. Behind them a tall golden arch frames the scene. Lamp flame and abhishekam-style floral decoration suggest aarti in a temple shrine.2015-01-04A photo of a temple shrine interior with golden arched niches and a deep red curtain. On the left, a gilded statue of a standing figure in a teal dhoti-like garment wears a dark patterned cap, layered garlands of yellow and pink flowers, and a heavy beaded necklace, with raised hands in abhaya mudra. On the right, a seated pair of gilded deities in red and gold garments, one holding a trident-like staff and wearing a crescent-moon crown, the other wearing a tall ornate crown and layered necklaces, sit on a throne. A shivalinga with red and white flower garlands stands in front, with brass oil lamps beside it. In the lower left, a blurred hand holds a ceremonial implement.2017-10-10 +2 copiesMay 25 20132013-05-25 +1 copiesFebruary 01 20142014-02-01January 01 20132013-01-01February 23 20092009-02-23 +1 copiesJuly 31 20152015-07-31A shaved-headed priest in saffron-orange robes bends at a black stone shivalinga on a dark stone base, pouring or tending it with his hands before an altar.
