A photograph of a gilded palanquin, a golden ceremonial vehicle with ornate carved panels, a red-orange cloth draped over its canopy, and a tall golden finial topped with brass bells, being prepared outdoors beside a corrugated-roof building. Several men work on a flatbed platform beneath it: one in a white shirt and white dhoti with a yellow shawl stands at the back holding the golden pole, another crouches in a white checked shirt stringing white flower garlands, and others in white shirts stand around the platform. Coconuts are piled at the right under trees and a pale overcast sky.
