A photograph of a temple shrine at night showing a person in an orange-saffron robe with long dark hair standing at left, holding a lit flame or oil lamp in one hand and a small object in the other as smoke rises. Beside them a second person in orange kneels before a brass stand with a lamp and offerings on a yellow-and-brown base. In the centre a white cloth-draped seat is covered with an orange-and-gold cloth. At right stands a large painted or sculpted deity figure in pink and green dress with gold jewellery and a crown. Stone pillars and a dark ceiling frame the scene. The standing figure shows swept-back long hair and orange robes, a person cue; the identification is uncertain, so the person is recorded as unsure.2008-01-03January 03 20082008-01-03March 24 20082008-03-24Night-time homa or aarti at an open pandal decorated with leafy banana plant stems, hanging green and orange festoons and coconut-leaf canopy. In the foreground a yellow-bordered square fire pit (homa kunda) with a lively flame sits within a white rangoli-style border, with a silver ladle resting on its edge. Two devotees in saffron-orange robes and matching orange head wraps stand bowing forward over the fire, one extending an offering. Behind them a seated figure in orange-red clothing and gold necklaces sits on a raised red-cushioned seat, and two more people in ochre clothing sit to the left. A black stone deity murti garlanded with white and multicoloured flowers stands on the left, and a golden deity image under an ornate arch with red drapes is behind. A colourful striped mat covers the floor, with a brass vessel and flower offerings nearby.2017-09-24January 03 20082008-01-03September 10 20172017-09-10 +1 copiesA photograph of a homa ceremony under a canopy decorated with orange, green and yellow fabric and banana leaves.
