August 20 20172017-08-20A photograph of a long line of men standing barefoot on a polished floor in a temple hall, several bare-chested and wearing white dhotis with gold borders, some with red or saffron cloths over the shoulder. Many have white ash markings on their chests and arms, and one man at the front has white tripundra marks on his forehead. Behind them a large gold ornate carved panel is visible, and at the far left a few people in white and gold-bordered shawls stand near a blue wall. Several men wear rudraksha-style beaded necklaces. The scene suggests a ritual queue of initiates or devotees waiting their turn in a temple.2018-01-28A photograph of a ceremony in a hall with cream walls and framed artwork. Around eight bare-chested men stand in a line wearing white dhoti cloths with gold-yellow borders, several with white ash markings on their torsos and arms. Some hold their hands joined in anjali, and one older man with a white beard holds his palms together at his chest. A wooden pillar stands at right, and a blue mat covers the floor in front. Small figures in the foreground and a partially visible person at right suggest a larger gathering. A wall-mounted speaker and framed paintings are visible above.2017-08-15September 05 20172017-09-05A photo of a line of bare-chested men in white dhotis standing under a tent at night, many with white ash markings on their chests and arms and rudraksha or beaded necklaces.
